- JomSolat: Muslim Prayer Times, Qibla Direction Compass, Adhan Alerts, and Quran Recitations.
- JomTajwid: Tajwid Guidelines, Arabic Pronunciation Rules, Audio Lessons, and Quizzes.
- JomIqra: Iqra Books 1 to 6 Learning Curriculum, Quranic Letter Audio, and Progress Tracking.
This policy applies to all users worldwide and has been drafted to strictly comply with the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, Google Play Developer Policies & Data Safety, the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and international standards such as GDPR and COPPA.
1. Information We Collect & Why
We practice data minimization: we collect only what is strictly required to provide core Islamic and educational utilities, maintain app performance, and support in-app subscriptions.
A. Location Data (JomSolat & JomTajwid)
When you explicitly grant permission, we access your device's approximate or precise location (GPS / Network):
- Purpose: To calculate accurate Islamic prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) for your exact geographical coordinates and to point the Qibla compass accurately towards the Kaaba in Makkah.
- Local Processing: Location data is calculated directly on your device. We do NOT track your location continuously in the background, we do NOT store your location coordinates on our remote servers, and we NEVER sell location data to third-party data brokers.
- User Choice: Location permission is entirely optional. If you prefer not to grant GPS access, you can manually select your city or prayer zone (e.g., Malaysia JAKIM zones) within the App.
B. Audio & Audio Playback
In JomTajwid and JomIqra, the Apps play authentic audio recordings of Arabic alphabet letters, makhraj, and Quranic recitations to facilitate listening and learning.
- Audio streams/files are downloaded or cached locally on your device for smooth playback.
- We do not record private audio through your microphone without your explicit in-app action. If any voice self-practice feature is used, audio is processed locally on the device and is never uploaded or shared.
C. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
If you purchase a premium subscription (e.g., JomTajwid Pro, JomSolat Premium, or JomIqra Pro):
- All financial transactions are handled exclusively by Apple App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play In-App Billing.
- We utilize RevenueCat as our subscription management infrastructure to securely validate receipts and verify active entitlement status across your devices.
- We NEVER receive, collect, or store your credit card, debit card, or banking details.
D. Diagnostics, Crash Logs & Anonymous Analytics
To ensure high reliability and fix bugs across hundreds of Android and iOS device models, we collect non-identifiable technical diagnostic data through Google Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics:
- Device model, operating system version (iOS/Android), language preference, and app version.
- Crash stack traces, memory status, and anonymous app interaction events.
- These analytics are aggregated and cannot be used to directly identify you personally.
E. Local On-Device Storage
The Apps use local device memory (e.g., SharedPreferences / local cache) to store your personal app settings, including:
- Last read page in Iqra (Books 1-6) or Mushaf Al-Quran.
- Tajwid quiz completion scores and badges.
- Prayer tracking counts and selected Adhan notification sound preferences.
This data remains strictly on your local device and is removed if you clear app storage or uninstall the App.

If you use free ad-supported versions of our Apps, third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may display ads:
- iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14.5 and newer, we explicitly request your permission via Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing advertising identifiers (IDFA). You have the complete right to decline tracking.
- Android Advertising ID: On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID anytime in your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads.
- Subscribed users enjoying our Pro / Premium tiers experience an ad-free environment without advertising SDK active tracking.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Policy)
Educational & Family Safety:
Our Apps — particularly JomIqra and JomTajwid — are designed to be safe, educational, and beneficial for learners of all ages, including children learning Quranic recitation alongside parents or educators.
- We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information (PII) from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
- No social profiling, behavioral ad targeting, or public chat features are present in the Apps.
- All reading progress is stored strictly on the local device. In-app purchases are protected by OS-level parental authorization (e.g., Apple Family Sharing / Ask to Buy).
- If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child has inadvertently provided personal information, please contact us at jomtajwid@gmail.com, and we will promptly delete such information.

We respect your right to be forgotten. Because the majority of user data (such as Iqra progress, bookmarks, and prayer counts) is stored locally on your device, you can delete this data at any time simply by uninstalling the App or selecting Clear Data / Clear Storage in your device application settings.
If you have communicated with us via email, submitted feedback, or wish to request the deletion of any anonymous diagnostic or purchase entitlement identifiers associated with your installation:
